A.E. PETSCHE CO., INC. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A.E. Petsche Company, Inc. Successfully Participates In Bombardier Six Sigma InitiativeA.E. Petsche Company, the world's leading supplier of high-performance wire, cable and related interconnect products announced today it has implemented a sophisticated supply program with Bombardier as a result of a Bombardier Six Sigma initiative. Working together, A.E. Petsche Company and Bombardier Aerospace's Canadair Division developed a broad ranging program to optimize supply of aircraft wire and cable from A.E. Petsche Company's Montreal facility. As a result of this program, Bombardier/Canadair is expected to eliminate virtually all of its in-house inventories of wire and cable. Only material required for work-in-process will be held by Canadair. It is expected that production at Canadair will gain dramatic efficiency by requisitioning and receiving material directly to the shop floor on a same-day basis. Transactions required to move material will be handled electronically between the two companies. Bombardier launched its Six Sigma initiatives in 1997, and to-date has established over 1,000 programs. The Six Sigma objectives are supported by over 350 "agents" from within Bombardier. |
