DStan's main purpose is to develop, facilitate and communicate UK MOD standardization policies, standards, procedures and guidance on standardization issues. DStan is part of the Procurement Development Group (PDG), a Support Group within the Defence Procurement Agency (DPA). The leader of the PDG acts under the authority of Executive Director 4 (XD4) of the DPA.
