MS3420 (SAE AS85049) Telescoping Bushing
The MS3420 specification covers telescoping bushing sleeves typically used with MS3057 cable and wire strain
relief clamps installed on MIL-DTL-5015 connectors. They may also be used with other connectors and clamps, or
anywhere wire bundles and cables must be protected in a securing device. Their primary application is to protect
unjacketed cable and wire bundles from crushing or abrasion when secured in a clamp-type strain relief.
MS3420 bushing sleeves are manufactured from synthetic rubber, and are available in multiple diameters and
lengths with part number suffixes which correspond to the MS3057 cable clamp being used. A rubber flange on
one end of the bushing sleeve prevents the bushing from slipping or being pulled out of the clamp.
MS3420 bushing sleeves can be “telescoped” with larger or smaller sleeves to achieve a snug fit of smaller
diameter cables or wire bundles.
Note: MS3420 has been replaced by SAE AS85049.
