SAE AS35061 (MS3506) External Power Receptacles
Voltage Rating: 28 VDC
Temperature Rating: -55°C (-67°F) to +105°C (221°F)
Contacts: Silver-Plated Copper
Base: Molded Glass
Shield: Anodized Aluminum Alloy
The SAE AS35061 (MS3506) specification covers oval-shaped, power receptacles with three contact poles.
These shielded receptacles feature polycarbonate plugs and provide excellent protection against corrosion,
extreme temperatures, and high voltage – making them ideal for external use on the surface of aircrafts. The
molded glass base of the receptacle also allows for minimal moisture absorption and provides added structural
stability for applications subjected to high loading. The receptacle can be used to create an external power source
for a variety of aircraft systems, including lighting components and communication devices. It can be connected
with studs and contact nuts on the rear of the receptacle.
The MS3506 receptacle is available in standard form with three exposed poles, a receptacle with an oval shield,
and a receptacle with an oval shield and flanged cover. In addition to protecting against physical damage, the
shield helps guide plug insertion and guards against misalignment. The optional flanged cover also allows for the
receptacle to be covered when disconnected from the cable.
Note: AN2552 and MS3506 has been replaced by SAE AS35061.
