MIL-PRF-49142 (M49142) RF Connectors
MIL-PRF-49142 (M49142) RF triaxial cable connectors are best-suited for applications without strict weight
requirements. These connectors provide excellent performance for radio frequency transmission circuits in
aerospace, military, or commercial applications. Standard soldering equipment, crimp tools, and wrenches are
used during assembly and installation.
The M49142 connector family is comprised of two classes that define their use:
- Class 1: Specified frequencies with completely defined RF characteristics
- Class 2: Mechanical connection in RF circuits with specified RF performance
There are also two categories of MIL-PRF-49142 connectors according to their cable attachment mechanism:
- Category A: Field serviceable, no special tools required.
- Category G: Field replaceable crimp center and outer contact, no special tools required.
A.E. Petsche ensures that MIL-PRF-49142 connectors meet all applicable requirements for critical material
characteristics such as vibration, moisture resistance, thermal shock, and conductor resistance. Other essential
mil-spec standards include impedance, voltage, frequency, and temperature ratings.
