M25038 is a heavy-duty, non-asbestos wire designed for use in extremely harsh environments, specifically in applications that are exposed to high heat or direct flame. Its thermal resistant properties make it ideal for use in critical circuit applications, such as aerospace engine compartments, fire detection circuits, flight-critical circuits, and fly-by-wire systems. With inorganic dielectric (inner) and PTFE (outer) insulation, M25038 is highly resistant to vibration, corrosion, oxidation, and abrasion – thus offering excellent performance across a broad range of difficult environmental conditions.
This wire is available as M25038/1 in a range of 22-04 AWG, and M25038/3 in a range of 22-12 AWG. The difference in these designations being that M25038/1 is jacketed in a PTFE-coated fiberglass braid and finisher, while M25038/3 contains a layer of PTFE/polyimide tape or PTFE-coated fiberglass and is jacketed in PTFE tape (fused high-performance or Seamless Wrap). M25038/3 is compatible with M38999 connectors and can serve as an affordable option that meets many of the same requirements as M25038/1.
